Please join us for a fascinating afternoon in the company of film star and actress Jennie Linden.
This event has proved so popular that we have repeated it and sold out within days. However, we will arrange future performances on the Island. If you are interested in joining us for the next performance please email your details to Judith at email@example.com and we will let you know as soon as new dates are confirmed.
Jennie’s film, television and stage career spanned four decades. After winning a scholarship to the Central School of Speech and Drama, she worked at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry and the Bristol Old Vic before starring in many West End Plays, including Thark with Alec McCowen, On Approval with Geraldine McEwan, My Fat Friend with Kenneth Williams and Hedda Gabler with Glenda Jackson.
Jennie’s best-known roles are in film. She starred with Glenda Jackson, Alan Bates and Oliver Reed in Ken Russell’s adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love (for which she was nominated for two Academy Awards) and with Peter Cushing and Roy Castle in Dr Who and the Daleks. She regularly appeared on television in series including The Persuaders, The Saint, The Avengers, The Champions, Lillie and Tales of the Unexpected. More recently she is remembered for parts in The Practice, Lovejoy, Chancer and Trainer.
Jennie will be discussing highlights of her career – and the actors and directors she worked with – in an illustrated conversation with Vectis Radio presenter James Vaux.
